Santa Rosa, CA
Riis Burwell designed this sculpture with three brass elements that intertwine around each other, thus inspiring a “flame” that welcomes employees and visitors to the Pacific Gas & Electric Building in Santa Rosa, CA. Built in 2011, this is piece that measures 10’ tall x 4’ x 4’. ZFA designed the concrete foundation, pedestal, and interior skeleton that support the sculpture. ZFA also integrated the sculpture anchorage, base plate frame and connections into the design of the sculpture. A scaled prototype was provided by the artist, which ZFA used to create a 3D computer model. The project was funded by the city’s “Percent for Art” program. ZFA made a significant donation to the design of this piece.
