Over the course of his 23-year career in the industry, Mark has completed new design and seismic strengthening of community, hospitality, educational (DSA), healthcare (OSHPD), correctional, and other public and privately owned facilities. Mark has applied performance-based seismic analysis and design methodologies to numerous structures. As a professional structural engineer, Mark consistently seeks innovative solutions and epitomizes the direct-involvement approach to projects.

Mark’s dedication to professional activities positions him at the front of the most recent research and state-of-the-art technologies for both new and modernization projects thus providing direct construction cost benefits to owners. As chair of the SEAOC Evaluation Reports Committee, Mark collaborates with colleagues to release industry reports on specific applications of vanguard technologies and products that enable their use by the construction industry ahead of code amendments. Similarly, Mark contributed to the development of the 2006 and 2013 updates to ASCE/SEI 41, the national standard for the seismic evaluation and rehabilitation of structures using linear and nonlinear procedures.
