Brewsters Beer Garden

Category: Work
Petaluma, CA

Historic Petaluma welcomed a local beer garden along Water Street and the adjacent Petaluma River in November of 2016. Nestled into the Historic stone walls of the old Petaluma Incubator Company, visitors can eat, drink and play bocce while viewing the tallest building in Sonoma County – Hunt & Behrens grain silos.

The “warehouse-style” entry nods to the industrial buildings on Water Street, while wood and rusted steel bring warmth and texture to a relaxed outdoor bar and dining space. The kitchen/bathrooms enclosed building is 1620 and 572 square feet, respectively with a living roof and long cantilevers at the Petaluma Boulevard elevation, supported by long-span glued laminated beams and wood shear walls which also brace the canopy structure.
