Matt Frantz, SE

Principal

Matt joined ZFA in 2008 after developing a wide range of knowledge in the design and detailing of structures through his work at previous firms in New York and San Luis Obispo.

Highlights:

    • Extensive experience with new construction, remodels, and seismic retrofits for City jurisdictions as well as OSHPD and DSA
    • Managed a series of seismic projects for a large energy client, which included seismic assessments for more than 70 buildings on four campuses
    • Pivotal role in the engineering of several large pieces of public art

Matt has contributed to many successful and complex projects with ZFA, including a recreation center at Saint Mary’s College that utilized CastConnex proprietary braced frames, an office building with SidePlate moment frames that achieved the first USRC Gold Rating in San Francisco, and a multitude of other seismic evaluation projects in which he continues to develop valuable relationships with clients and contractors.

“As a structural engineer, I enjoy collaborating to resolve complicated problems. Even better, I enjoy thinking ahead and foreseeing problems before they arise!”
