This complete campus replacement project consisted of the removal of existing buildings and the construction of 56,700 square feet of new facilities, including classrooms, a multi-purpose building, a library, and kindergarten buildings. Existing flood-prone grass fields were replaced with higher-elevation synthetic turf fields and new paved play areas.
The buildings are wood-framed with steel-framed canopies. The design includes open web trusses, a suggestion of the general contractor, to allow for easy coordination between subcontractors that needed to route utilities in the ceiling space. For enhanced acoustical performance in the multi-purpose building, we incorporated exposed steel decking on the roof, on top of glulam beams.
