The award-winning, two-story Classroom Building at Los Altos High School spans 44,000 square feet, including an open-air covered interior corridor space. Certified LEED Silver, the facility consists of 23 classrooms, several flexible spaces, and a teacher collaboration room. State-of-the-art features include a culinary arts classroom and a fully functioning kitchen.
The structural design includes special steel concentric braced frames with CastConnex brace connectors and metal stud wall framing. A horizontal truss roof diaphragm was utilized to address daylighting openings throughout corridors.
