Hayward Regional FTC & New Fire Station No. 6
ZFA served as the structural engineer for the Hayward Regional Fire Training Center (FTC) and New Fire Station No. 6 completed in 2023. Located on 6.73 acres, the $82 million campus consists of the 20,678-square-foot fire station plus eight new non-essential service buildings. The campus serves as the Chabot College Fire Academy's new home, as a base for firefighter and paramedic response operations, and as a place for training and education for members of the fire service.

Class B Burn Building/Training Tower
The Class B Burn Building/Training Tower consists of a four-story, 11,172-square-foot building made of cast-in-place concrete with CMU infill. It functions an an open, multi-tenant commercial training space.
Class A Burn Building
The residential-style, Class A Burn Building is 4,534 square feet, consisting of cast in place floor/roof systems with infill CMU walls. It includes a multi-family space configuration with a walk-out basement.
BART Platform Training
The BART Platform Training facility consists of a decommissioned BART train car on an elevated track, allowing firefighters to train for life suppression and medical emergencies.
Parking Structure & Confined Space Training
A partially collapsed parking structure prop enables firefighters to practice post-earthquake search and rescue skills.
