Proposal and Marketing Coordinator

Job Summary

Our marketing team is growing, and we are looking for another team member to help bring our company’s marketing to the next level. With 100 employees across five offices, our company is small enough that everyone knows each other, but large enough to have significant marketing resources, needs, and aspirations.

The Proposal and Marketing Coordinator supports the marketing team in preparing response materials for public RFQ/RFPs, both as a subconsultant and as prime consultant. Additional responsibilities include supporting the marketing team’s fast-paced workflow and contributing to firm-wide marketing efforts outside of proposals, including the preparation of general marketing materials and digital communications. Occasional travel to our offices (Sacramento, Napa, Santa Rosa, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley) is required.

This position is available in either our Santa Rosa, San Francisco, Sacramento, or Silicon Valley (Redwood City) offices. A full-time in-office position is preferred.

 Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is motivated, creative, flexible, and a good communicator. This candidate is well organized, has excellent coordination skills, and pays keen attention to details. Strong writing and editing skills are a must. This candidate is good natured, positive, and knows how to juggle simultaneous tasks as well as work with a team of busy people. This person is confident but eager to learn and unafraid of asking questions.

The Proposal and Marketing Coordinator is preferred to hold a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or other relevant field of study. Alternately, the Proposal and Marketing Coordinator may have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in the A/E/C field. A candidate who meets neither qualification shall be passionate to learn and contribute meaningfully to the team and able to demonstrate this as well as their relevant skills and aspirations in an oral and written manner.

The Proposal and Marketing Coordinator shall be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong reading comprehension skills are a must. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and in Adobe programs (InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop) is desirable, as is some experience with Deltek Vision, Vantagepoint, or similar database application.

 Salary Range

$70,000 – $95,000

Entry Level Designer

Minimum qualifications:

A Designer shall have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil, architectural or structural engineering; an EIT certificate is preferred. A master’s degree is appreciated. Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and practice is required. Must have the ability and desire to learn project-engineering skills as well as be personable to maintain positive client relationships for ZFA.

As an entry-level engineer, a Designer is responsible for basic structural-engineering tasks. Smaller projects or portions of projects may be assigned at first, and strong collaboration with more senior personnel will be expected to guide the Designer in learning ZFA standards and practices. A Designer is responsible for asking thoughtful questions and producing high-quality work. Active learning, listening and communication will develop a Designer’s technical and soft skills.

Salary range:

$75,000 – $90,000

Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

An Engineer shall have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil, architectural or structural engineering. Professional registration as a licensed Civil Engineer is desired but not required at this level, however intent to register is preferred. A master’s degree is appreciated. Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and practice is required. Must have the ability and desire to learn project-engineering skills as well as be personable to maintain positive client relationships for ZFA.

An Engineer is to meet the responsibilities of a Designer in addition to being independently responsible for: the quality of structural engineering work performed, informing project manager of budget issues and increases in scope of work, providing high-quality client service and maintaining the positive reputation of the office. An Engineer possesses the primary daily design and technical skills necessary to conduct work with a great degree of independence.

Salary range:

$80,000 – $105,000

Senior Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

A Senior Engineer shall have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil, architectural or structural engineering. Professional registration as a licensed Civil Engineer is required; a Structural Engineer license is preferred. A master’s degree is appreciated. Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and practice is required. Must have the ability and desire to learn project-engineering skills as well as be personable to maintain positive client relationships for ZFA.

A Senior Engineer is to meet the responsibilities of an Engineer in addition to being responsible for the successful management of projects. Senior Engineers are responsible for: the quality of structural engineering work performed, project profitability for structural engineering projects, high-quality client service, effective utilization of staff, maintenance of the positive reputation of the office and some marketing tasks. A Senior Engineer possesses the primary daily design and technical skills necessary to conduct work with a great degree of independence. A Senior Engineer also shows initiative in assisting with office- and firm-wide improvements.

Salary range:

$95,000 – $115,000
